Design & Innovation Exhibition Lagos

I collaborated with Nord Collective to bring my home collection ideas to life. This opportunity was an incredible way to explore the transferability of my motif. Nord Collective is a cultural agency bridging tradition and modernity in Northern Nigerian artisans' work and cultural heritage. I partnered with them to create adire fabric featuring my motif, which was then transformed into cushion covers and exhibited at Design Week Lagos alongside furniture and hand-woven fabrics by Northern artisans.

The mission of Nord Collective is one dear to my heart, as I've witnessed the underrepresentation of artisans in the industry. Being part of their goal to elevate these skilled craftspeople is a privilege I deeply cherish. The experience has sparked a new creative direction in my practice, and I'm eagerly looking forward to learning the adire technique myself. My next goal is to personally create adire fabrics that incorporate my signature motif, allowing me to connect more deeply with this traditional craft while bringing my own artistic vision to the process.
